Vasantham – Youth Services
Throughout the project, our primary goal was to reach out to immigrant youth and provide informational workshops and individual sessions where they become more aware of gambling issues, mental health, addictions, financial literacy, media literacy, and more. We have steadily continued informing youth, having sessions, linking to external services, and informing family members of problematic vs. nonproblematic gaming use. Despite these months being the last three months of the project, due to the lack of culturally specific services for youth gambling and gaming, we are still receiving many calls from parents in urgent need of their adolescent.

Interestingly, a great component of this project included briefly educating parents on how they can help their children with problematic gaming/gambling behaviour (through parenting strategies, and healthy communication).
